Literature Text

My lips will flower for but a season
And fall apart to die away
My ears sat in a silence once
Yet they cannot hear others move
For my mind is but a wishing well
Of people's dreams I have destroyed
Medusa envies serpents now
Whenever she is all alone
I envy her emotions now
My numbness always makes me dumb

A candle burns under their sun
My sparks hit only leaden walls
Misery has brought me here
Convulse, my sweet purile vomit
I keel as a flower in the wind
Sinking through, like liquid death
What has brought me into this
Imaginary republic hell?

Cassandra, Cassandra
My name lies on your feet
I refuse to admit that it's all a lie
Greyscale world, my sanguine sepia
Depicts the truth of everything
Releasing, releasing
Like autumn, the trees know
They have already done what they can
But seasons will insist
And my mind drives downwards
